About Us
Ndlovu Care Group (NCG) was initially founded as a primary healthcare facility in 1994 serving the rural communities of Moutse Valley in the Sekhukhune District of the Limpopo Province with a population of approximately 140 000. It soon became clear to the founders – Dr. Hugo Tempelman and his wife, Liesje Tempelman – that this was a community plagued by many social and economic issues which sought to undermine any medical care and treatment they were providing.
Poverty, unemployment, lack of access to clean water, food insecurity, access to transport to healthcare facilities, lack of access to education, etc. were some of the many factors that were identified as requiring attention if sustainable health gains were to be realised.
NCG envisions a society where people’s overall wellbeing and access to basic needs are adequately addressed, to the extent where there is no longer a demand for healthcare services. The only way to achieve such a society, is to prevent the onset of disease and poor health due to poverty and other socio-economic issues.
NCG’s approach to healthcare is premised on the critical need to address the social determinants of health in an effort to ensure that the poor and marginalized in society also have the opportunity to realise their full health potential.
In addition to our healthcare programmes and facilities, we set out to establish programmes which we strongly believed would address the health inequities which are the consequence of the socio-economic and environmental issues prevalent in the communities of Moutse Valley. These are programmes which address nutrition, food insecurity, water and sanitation, infrastructure support, early childhood development, education, unemployment, youth and community development.
Ndlovu medical centre is well equipped with trained professional staff.
Clean water, basic toilets and the practice of good hygiene are essential for human survival.
The NCG Child Care & Youth Development Program is a program which provides services “from Cradle to Adulthood”
NCG has its own construction and maintenance teams contributing to the excellent facilities for our programmes.
Our vision: creating hope and development opportunities to build healthy, responsible and self-sustaining communities.
